No pope in history called such attention to the young Church as did John Paul II.  Early in his pontificate (1984), John Paul II called the youth of the world together to celebrate their dientity as young Catholics and to challenge them to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.  These international meetings of youth with the Holy Father became known as World Youth Day.

Pope Benedict XVI has continued this tradition with World Youth Day in Cologne (2005) and Sydney (2008).  In 2011, two adults and seven teens from Saint Cecilia will attend World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain.  We will also visit Assisi and Rome as part of a pre-trip.
